If you follow me at all on social media, you may have noticed I have been teasing you with some news – and yesterday, I announced that I am expanding my family law practice and opening an office in Crafers, in the Adelaide Hills.
So, I am officially an Adelaide Hills Family Lawyer and I am so delighted to share this with you!
I grew up in the Adelaide Hills (although, the “other” Hills… beyond Tea Tree Gully – near Houghton, Inglewood, and Kersbrook), and I loved it!
I had a horse. We had sheep. We had space. And it was glorious!
I also have the most wonderful memories of spending time with my grandmother in the Barossa Valley – mostly in Angaston and exploring the country side with my brother..
Being in the Adelaide Hills fills me with a sense of peace that I don’t necessarily feel when I am in the city. The city is exciting, and it’s busy and loud, and I’m not entirely sure that’s a good mix for sorting out the big life stuff.
That busy-ness can disrupt the coordinated and peaceful processes I believe are so necessary for the delicate and respectful approach a family needs during separation or divorce.
The South Eastern Freeway gives me time to think; the Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens provides the space for a peaceful stroll to contemplate life, values and goals; the Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty hike can help one find perspective when one feels it’s missing; The peaceful drive to the Harvest Cafe in Mylor can help clear your mind… and the cycling.. oh for the love of cycling.
In my life before children, I spent an enormous amount of time cycling – at the time, I lived in Tea Tree Gully and more often than not, spent my free time (…uni days…) cycling.. sometimes clocking up over 300km a week – and usually through the Adelaide Hills. Gorge Road and Corkscrew Road to Norton Summit still remain one of my favourite challenges!
And if not the Hills, I headed straight for the ocean… you can call me nature girl, I suppose!
And so, I knew when I found the right space to open my family law office in the Adelaide Hills, I would be providing the families I work with the space to process the “stuff” – there is a lot of stuff to be processed when you separate – and in a way that will help keep them out of court and healthy, so you can focus on leading a happy and healthy life.
And so, you will find me at 10 Main Street, Crafers – but not to worry – if you process the big stuff better in the busy-ness of life, I still have an office in Rose Park and I am also available by Skype and FaceTime by appointment.
